#### Objectives:

#### Lesson Procedure:
1. **Introduction (10 minutes)**:
- Greet students and briefly discuss the importance of reading comprehension in their daily lives.
- Explain that today they will practice reading comprehension using a novel and a non-fiction text.
2. **Mini Lesson (15 minutes)**:
- Introduce the selected novel and non-fiction text/article.
- Read a short passage from each text aloud to the class.
- Model identifying the main idea and supporting details using a think-aloud strategy.
- Show students how to annotate texts and take notes.
3. **Guided Practice (15 minutes)**:
- Divide students into small groups.
- Distribute copies of the selected passages and worksheets for finding main ideas and supporting details.
- Instruct each group to read the passages together and complete the worksheets.
- Circulate the room, providing assistance and guided questions to ensure understanding and participation.
4. **Group Discussion (10 minutes)**:
- Regroup as a class and invite representatives from each group to share their findings.
- Use chart paper to outline the main ideas and supporting details identified by each group.
- Discuss how the themes, settings, and characters in the novel compare and contrast with the information in the non-fiction text.
5. **Independent Practice (5 minutes)**:
